O God there is the persistent call to feed the hungry and find shelter for the homeless. Stir our hearts to move more deeply in our efforts to help. We feel comfortable living beyond our needs when others do not have their basic needs met. Help us not to just pay lip service to this call but to take what action we can. Keep our hearts in tune to hear the cry of the hungry and the homeless. Amen.
Each church appoints a coordinator who heads up a team of volunteers who operate in three shifts. The first group to welcome, book in and serve an evening meal, the second to remain whilst the guests sleep, (and could sleep themselves), the third group prepares breakfast and closes down after breakfast when the guests have left.
A Warden is present each night.
Food and Money Donations
Many thanks for the kind donations already received. As this is a 4 month project we would appreciate your continued support and ask you would consider donating a few pounds to pay for a meal. We could also use tinned food for puddings like fruit, rice pudding or sponge pudding. Also some cartons of readymade custard. Biscuits and cuppa soups, UHT milk are also useful. A collection point is at the back of Holy Trinity church. Please keep this project in your prayers.
